The seven chakras are the main energy centers of the body. You’ve probably heard people talk about “unblocking” their chakras, which refers to the idea that when all of our chakras are open, energy can run through them freely, and harmony exists between the physical body, mind, and spirit.

Chakra translates to “wheel” in Sanskrit, and you can imagine them like wheels of free-flowing positive energy.

Chakras manage our physical, metaphysical and practical well-being. If our chakras are out of order or if they are not aligned, they might create problems. ‘Chakras’ is a universal phenomenon with more than 100 chakras associated with each individual but the most vital of them are the seven chakras located in the body. The word comes from the Sanskrit ‘cakra’ meaning a wheel or a circle. While there are various techniques to get the chakras right like aroma therapy, reiki, crystals etc., it is also easy to practice it on yourself once you learn how to do it on your own.Balance chakras on your own
All human beings are born with these energy centres, and balancing and activating them correctly is important. Psychologist and performance coach Dr Kanan Khatau Chikhal teaches people who want to learn on how to heal themselves with chakra balancing. She says, “Your chakras need to be balanced everyday and you can choose any one methodology to do so. These include visualisation experiences, colour therapy, chanting and stretches. Those who are very dominating will face acidity issues while those who cannot express themselves will have throat issues. Achieving a balance can help your physical and emotional well-being since it is an interface between the two.”
